Choose a speaker in one of the poems we have discussed and in two pages show what and how that speaker reveals about the world he inhabits.
Each paragraphs should be tightly focused on a single argumentative point about what the speaker reveals about his or her world and should have a topic sentence. Please underline your topic sentence in each paragraph.
You do not need a conclusion as in a regular essay but you must have an introductory paragraph mapping out the main point you will make (in order that you will make them) about what the speaker reveals about his or her world.
Point of the assignment (learning outcomes): This is an exercise in close reading and accurate and analytical writing. These are skills that you will need in any profession.
