Remaining assignments: update 10/25/16
1)
Revision of response assignment #1 is due HARDCOPY with a HARDCOPY of original
with my comments on it on Oct 31 in class.
2)
RESPONSE ASSIGNMENT #2:
Choose a character in any one of the works we have discussed. In two pages, with a strong intro (lead-in, thesis statement, forecasting) and focused body paras but NO CONCLUSION, argue WHY and/or HOW that character is important to the work he or she inhabits. In this assignment, as in the previous one, you focus should again be on close reading, analysis, and strength of your paras as idea units: each para should make one argumentative point about the character and his or her importance to the work.

***THIS
IS A CHANGE TO THE SYLLABUS***
PROPOSAL FOR FINAL ESSAY (10% for simply handing in a bona fide effort on time)
In two pages outline your plans for your final 5-page paper. Tell me your topic, give me a working thesis statement if you can, tell me what passages from the text you plan to use to support your argument. You could add what difficulties you see if there are any. The more information you give me, the more feedback I can give you.
